Serial entrepreneur, focused on high-tech startups, technology transition, commercialization, and business development. Founded TechOpp Consulting, Inc., in 2009 to provide highly pro-active business development and technology transition support to small and mid-size companies. His team places special emphasis on government-funded R&D contracts and acquisitions.
From 2001 to 2009, Bob worked at a small high-tech company where he served as the Director of the Optical Systems Group. Their work focused on developing fiber optic sensors for a broad range of industrial and defense applications. Bob has over 30 published papers in the field of fiber optic sensors for extreme high-temperature and high radiation environments.
Prior to earning his master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Bob served in the U.S. Navy submarine force from 1986 to 1995. Bob was a “Navy Nuke” Machinist Mate aboard the USS Minneapolis-St. Paul (SSN-708) and the USS Atlanta (SSN-712). He was honorably discharged as an E-6.
