Mary Ann began her career as a project engineer and rose through leadership positions over 16 years in land development design. She led teams executing complex civil engineering projects to design sites for educational, industrial, commercial, and residential clients. During that time, she became a business developer and proposal writer to build the project pipeline and grow her team. Mary Ann also took on a corporate role as vice president of operations, collaborating with all divisions to develop standards and systems for the company to improve its efficiency and quality control.

After earning an MBA from Virginia Tech, Mary Ann went on to diversify her career, assisting a defense contractor with finding and developing emerging technologies, guiding university departments and nonprofits in designing or redesigning their websites, and helping an R1 university manage its intellectual property portfolio. She is a relentless networker, and at TechOpp Consulting she enjoys connecting her clients with partners who can help them reach the next level of success.
